Which ratio should I choose?
- Only Reels, TikTok, Shorts and Stories: 9:16. Make one master and keep text in the shared safe box.
- To stand out in the Instagram or Facebook feed: 4:5 — it takes the most room in the feed.
- For LinkedIn: 4:5 or 1:1. Desktop users watch too, so adapting a vertical video to 4:5 looks more balanced.
- For websites, YouTube or X: 16:9 uses the full width of a landscape screen.
- For all of them: start with 9:16, then rebuild 4:5 and 1:1 versions from the same scenes; change the layout instead of shrinking the text.
Shared export settings
- Codec: H.264 High, yuv420p, BT.709.
- Frame rate: 30 fps (don't go above 30 fps for LinkedIn ads).
- Audio: AAC 48 kHz stereo, ≈ -14 LUFS, peaks ≤ -1.5 dBTP.
- MP4 "faststart": playback starts before the download finishes.
Frequently asked questions
Are Instagram and TikTok videos the same size?
+
Yes, both are 1080×1920 (9:16). The safe zones differ: TikTok keeps 480 px clear at the bottom, Reels 380 px.
What size should LinkedIn videos be?
+
4:5 (1080×1350) takes up the most room in the feed; 1:1, 9:16 and 16:9 are supported too. Videos play on mute, so the text has to carry the message.
Which frame rate should I use?
+
30 fps is safe on every platform. Reels, TikTok and Shorts also support 60 fps; stay at 30 fps on LinkedIn.
